Lots of great stuff is in the works!
Disclaimer-Captain DIY and DIYtoFI.blog highly recommend exercising extreme caution when attempting DIY projects. Not everybody can do everything, and some things should only be done by professionals. Keep your digits attached, and keep the insurance company off of your back. Do it right or call the right people!
Astute readers of the World’s Best DIY Blog (according to a very exclusive DIY blog critique magazine that you definitely haven’t heard of) my have noticed that the window change in the last article was in a room with a fairly low vaulted ceiling. The most astute among you may have determined that vaulted ceiling to belong to an attic, specifically the attic of DIY Headquarters.
This is, in the fact, the rough midpoint of a project recently undertaken to finish the attic and create a Master Bedroom Oasis. Currently the bedroom situation is perfectly fine according to the Captain, but the Mrs has thoughts to the contrary. Therefore we have come to the joint decision to upgrade the attic from Nearly Usable Storage to Epic Master Bedroom.
There are many facets to this project, beginning of course with at least two years of planning and debating. We tend, and I think we are probably not alone in this, to hem and haw over large decisions like this one until enough time has passed that it is too late to do the project. This is by far the most economical method of home improvement, as it costs nearly no money to get nothing done. I highly recommend it as a path to savings.
If, however, you are of the more industrious ilk and decide your life would be that much better if you were able to use the wasted space in your house, this is a fairly easy and inexpensive option. I will be going over some of the specific aspects of the project in detail, as evidenced by the window replacement article.
There are many more pieces to fit together before this space becomes the Holistic Sanctuary of Rest and Relaxation to which it is destined, and I shall take you with me on this journey of constructive renewal. There will be subfloors and floors to install, knee walls to build, drywall to install and finish, electrical components, and more. I will have more Guest Experts help along the way, and it will culminate with the grand opening of our staycation hideout.
Stay tuned, dear readers, and the glory of the Attic of DIY Headquarters will be mostly revealed. In the meantime, enjoy these pictures of cute kitties.
And now to help us feel manly again here are some pictures of manly things. Cheers!
